Writing has always been therapeutic for me. It was a way for me to share my thoughts and feelings without actually having to be heard. The idea for this piece came to me when I was planning a body of work for my year 2 IB art class about difficult life transitions and the different coping mechanisms I clung to for sanity.
 
Here is a little bit of prose that inspired this artwork.
 
"My therapist tells me that writing can be therapeutic. 
I don't know how to tell her that I write letters to you all the time...
Sad letters.
Angry letters.
Love letters.
Wrapped up in a perfect pink bow and hidden away in the depths of my soul.
So many words unspoken, my feelings just pour out onto the page
I call it: 'keeping my head above water the only way I know how.'"
